The Irish Association of Sterile Services Managers was established in 1989. After the AGM of 2011 it changed its name to the Irish Decontamination Institute to reflect the ever-growing diversity of the decontamination process. Its aim is to keep you as a member abreast of all developments in decontamination. It fulfils this aim by spearheading a revolution in decontamination through the organizing of conferences, study days, training and education sessions and the dissemination of the latest developments in decontamination to its members. It is a member of the World Forum for Hospital Sterile Supply (www.wfhss.com) and advises on its Education Working Group. The IDI is firmly regarded as being one of the leading organisations in this field globally.
MediWales is the life science network for Wales. We are a not-for-profit, independent membership organisation, providing advice, support and business opportunities for our members. We have over 200 members including life science organisations, pharmaceutical services, medical technology companies, academia and the Welsh NHS. We run a busy programme of activity including events, conferences, publishing magazines and one to one business support.
The Central Sterilising Club was founded in 1960 by a small group of enthusiastic individuals who were either working in the rapidly evolving central sterile supply departments or were attempting to solve the many problems associated with developing rapid, safe methods for sterilising surgical items in bulk.
Over 60 years The CSC has evolved, finding strength in its multi-disciplinary membership of: microbiologists, infection prevention nurses, engineers, sterile service staff and commercial representatives, to debate and share decontamination solutions for increasingly complex medical devices.
