Krishnamurthy Vaidyanathan (Krishna) has an overall experience of 34 years in research, technology development and new product development and its management. In his capacity as Engineering Director at Spark Minda, Krishna is responsible for new product development in Intelligent Transportation Systems, Telematics, IOT and Display systems. Prior to his role in Spark Minda, he founded and managed EI LABS INDIA, an entrepreneurial enterprise in the field of connected cars and IOT, for 14+ years. Before founding EI LABS, Krishna was Innovation Center Head for Philips Semiconductors Digital Television team in Bangalore. Krishna started his career as a Scientist in the Defense Research and Development Organization working on Sonar signal processing. He has a rich experience in the areas of digital communication, cellular and GNSS technologies, signal processing, frugal engineering, technology forecasting and devising strategies to compete based on innovation. In his career of three decades, he has managed cross country, cross company, cross cultural, cross domain project teams in India and the USA. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani, IIT Kanpur and NYU-Poly. He lives and works out of Bangalore, India.

In the beginning of his career he worked as a system architect for embedded industrial communication devices. His major areas of expertise are real-time communication systems and industrial networks with a focus on TSN, 5G and DetNet.

Alexander is chairman and editor of the OPC UA TSN sub-group which is specifying the QoS/TSN information model for OPC devices in cooperation with the OPC Field Level Communication (FLC) initiative. As a liaison officer at 5G ACIA for collaborating with the OPC Foundation he is supporting the integration of both technologies OPC UA and 5G for future mobile industrial applications.

Kun Yang has 10+ years’ project experience on land-based maritime communications. He received his Ph.D from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway. Since 2014, he founded a Norwegian high-tech telecommunication startup, Super Radio AS, which is maritime 5G pioneer for ocean digitalization and autonomous ship. Since 2016, he is leading the world’s first maritime 5G project, MAMIME, funded by Norwegian Research council. His team invented a dedicated maritime 5G solution promoted in a top 5G blog, and provided 5G test solution for small-version yara-birkeland autonomous boat, which is regarded as the world’s first electric autonomous container ship. He was invited as a speaker by 5G world submit, Asia pacific maritime, Autonomous Ship Technology Symposium to give speeches on maritime 5G for the related vertical.

Yogaratnam Rahulan is the Chief Architect at the Home of 5G & 6G Innovation Centre, Institute of communications Systems, (ICS), University of Surrey.  Rahulan leads the 5GIC & 6GIC Research and development team in the Centre, and designs 5G systems, satellite 5G Systems and manages the systems and software development activities, particularly the 5G core network and O-RAN software development and network Automation management centre activities. he works as a solution architect with many industrial mobile partners to integrate OTS software from Vodafone, EE, Telefonica, Huawei, Samsung, Fujitsu and other European universities etc. His career spans the cellular GPRS, UMTS and LTE generations where he has worked in R&D at Nokia, Accenture, Telefónica O2 and PPF.

Simon M Watts has worked in the telecommunications industry since graduation from Manchester University 1981, with the majority of his experience gained from within the satellite communications industry. Simon has extensive experience of satellite communications and network design having overseen deployment of major satellite networks for BT International and Hughes Network Systems.

Simon has worked with Avanti as a Principle Consultant from 2012 on multiple ESA, UK, and EC projects looking at the integration of satcom in to 5G. He has brought wide experience in the telecommunications and broadband network industries at a technical and commercial level to ensure technical and commercial direction.  These projects have covered areas including the integration of satellite and terrestrial networks, 5G future satellite networks, modem/antenna design, cellular and Wi-Fi backhaul, and mobility.  He was Hughes Network Systems Europe – Chief Engineer between 2001 and 2011.  His career started at BT International initially helping to design and implement ground station systems before providing various VSAT systems.
