In-silico methods are one type of the new\ntechnologies that enable increased development and scale-up speed. Optimal\noperating points and process parameters can be acquired either with data-driven\nmodels in the process development phase or with mechanistic models in the\nscale-up phase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.&nbsp;<u>What will be the key takeaways from your presentation which will help in expanding the knowledge base of the attendees<\/u>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>How a modern simulation software can\nhelp you in the design, scale-up, or troubleshooting of your reactor.<\/li><li>Mechanistic models can make\npredictions about the optimal operating conditions of large-scale reactors.<\/li><li>How a physics-based scale-up can\nreduce the risk, the experimental effort, and the time-to-market.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong><u>ABOUT<\/u><\/strong>:<br><strong>Christian Witz <\/strong>did his <strong>Ph.D.<\/strong> in the group of Prof. Khinast at the <strong>Institute of Process and Particle Engineering <\/strong>on the topic of multiphase reactor simulation using the lattice Boltzmann method. He then established the Computational Bioprocess Engineering group at the institute to find, test, validate, and interconnect highly efficient algorithms for graphic processing units (GPUs) to simulate the physical process inside devices like the bioreactor.
